Over lunch today, I had an argument with my mother about the location of Washington D.C.. Holy Christ, she refused to believe that D.C. is in fact in VIRGINIA, not Washington (state). I wanted to punch her in the face she was being so ignorant/stubborn. I was like "If all my geography classes weren't enough, I think the fact that I took a trip by train to washington d.c. (in VIRGINIA!) for the 5th grade safety patrol (lol 5 years ago?) is evidence... It would've taken days by train to get to Washington state which is on the complete opposite side of the fucking country.

These are the kind of arguments I get in on a daily basis with her. Arguments where a) I know for a fact I'm right, b) I know for a fact she is wrong, c) she is just being totally ignorant

Ugh.
I... hate..... homework. bleh.

I'm such a bad procrastinator. When it comes to this, facebook and myspace are good friends of mine. ha. I get bored easily though, so it's okay.

I've been listening to music a lot more than usual lately. I've just recently found some more bands that I really like.. I love music with passion and good lyrics.

The other day I had a discussion about how men supposedly make women into objects.. and of all people, I had this discussion with my mom. I thought it was pretty funny actually.
She kept saying how people are so much more perverted these days, and how when she was young in Berlin there were special stores for magazines like Playboy (etc, etc.) and people were ashamed to go in those stores. She was saying how she thinks with the internet these days people have become more accepting and people have become more perverted since those days. I was like "you're joking right?". Pervert's aren't made through internet, perverts are aided by internet. She thinks pedophiles and sex addicts didn't exist in her day as much as they do now. Could she be any more ignorant? Just because it's more out in the open now because we have better means of communication doesn't mean it wasn't going on when she was a kid.
Then she was saying crap about how men objectify all the women in magazines, the media, and in daily life, which really annoyed me because she was making the men sound like they're always the bad ones. NEWSFLASH: girls like that aren't being forced to show up in those magazines, they want to do what they do. AND - A lot of women objectify themselves, the fact that men like looking at them just adds to it.

Ha.. my mom's just bitter because my dad's a sex addict. I told her though, I said, "Not every guy is messed up like dad is! you can't compare the average (straight) guy with a pervert like him!"

Thank god I don't have to be within 30 miles of that man. I can't stand being near him, hearing his voice, seeing his face.
I envy anyone who has a good relationship with their father; but I sure don't want anything to do with mine.

p.s.
swim meet at saint andrew's tomorrow after school!!! It's easy crap anyways. I think she's just annoyed that half of the people in her class have already read a bunch of the textbook stories (ie.. 7th grade.. cask of amontillado much?? miss adamo rocks.. haha)

Back to doing my science project.. that happens to be due tomorrow.. that I started like 2 hours ago..

HOW EXCITING.

In other news, when I'm not biting my lip to keep myself from insulting my science teacher (who would actually be really good if she wasn't incompetent), the worst part of my day (yes, including algebra 2, which isn't really THAT bad), is waking up in the morning. I don't think anyone likes waking up in the morning, but I'd love it if I never had to wake up.

Once in the morning, either 2 or 3 hours, then dryland, then again in the afternoon either 2 or 3 hours. It sucked though, because whenever we had to run, I had to do abs and push-ups instead because I have a damn calf injury (which I got from lifting weights :\ ). I love running. I'd so much rather run than do abs/pushups. Even though it was literally 100 degrees outside. Plus now I'm sort of out of "running shape". bleh.

Today I trained with the Boca High team.. we ran before we swam, as usual . I regret the running. I feel like the injury was getting better, but I think the running today just re-aggravated the injury.. :(

School starts on Monday.. wooooooooo! :\

One full week of training, training, fun, and more training. YAYYYYYYYYY!
Haha. I'm actually really excited about it. Two of the nights will be spent at the Fairfield (?) hotel right next to Muvico. Those days we will be running from the hotel to the pool for practice. It's only a few miles, thankfully. haha. Training is supposed to be really hard, but it'll definitely be a fun week. I love my teammmm.

Anyways, Harper and I saw the Dark Knight last night. It was a really good movie.. Heath Ledger's role as the Joker was awesome. Talk about going out with a big bang. I'm glad his final performance was in a movie that was sold out for like a week, that millions of people saw. He definitely deserved the popularity of this movie. He was a great actor.

We hung out, facebook stalked, and talked until like 2am. Today we went to the gym and hung out by the pool all day. Then went in the jacuzzi. We attempted to go in the steam sauna - that didn't work out. We felt like we couldn't breathe. So then we went in the dry sauna. haha. It was funnnnnnnnnnnnn :) AND, no one got sunburned!! yay :]

MY FAVORITE TELEVISION SHOW (other than Law & Order ) IS ON TONIGHT!! woooooooooo!
Amy finally tells her parents about her pregnancy. This should be a very interesting episode. I wonder if she'll tell them that it happened with some guy at band camp.. they probably wouldn't believe her, but that's what really happened. Then again, there's not really any reason for her to tell them that, it's almost TMI. bahaha. It sucks, none of my friends watch this show, so I have no one to talk to about it. Actually, nevermind, Harper listens to me talk even though she doesn't watch the show. Lol =)

We took pictures with a waterproof disposable camera today. Those are so much fun. :p I've gotta go get those pictures developed. I'm not sure if my scanner works or not yet, so I might just give them to Harper and then she'll email me them and then I'll upload them to facebook. bahaha how complicated :)

Ok, so soon I got home from the gym today , I went to the kitchen to make myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (creative, I know,). My mom happened to be in the kitchen making something too. Anyways, I open the fridge and am instantly bombarded by COMPLETE AND UTTER CHAOS. Yes, I am talking about the fridge. It probably wasn't that bad, but the disorder of it all was really disturbing to me. Anyways, since I'm like OCD, I couldn't just let the fridge stay that way. So I started organizing things and moving it around. Then I got to a carton (?) of Soymilk (like the ones pictured at the top of this page --> http://www.silksoymilk.com/Products.aspx). It was laying on it's side, which I couldn't stand. So in my attempt to create some order, I picked it up by the side, not the cap, AND THE CAP FLIES OFF. It's a miracle that I don't have a sticky layer of soymilk in my hair. It went all over the kitchen floor and some inside the fridge. I automatically got very agitated. I mean, come on, no one starts their day thinking "Today I hope to spill soymilk all over the floor". Thing is, it wasn't even my fault! I know for a fact that I was not the last one who used the Soymilk; My mom makes a protein shake with it every morning (granted, I drink the shake, but she's the one who makes it). So there I was like flipping out because my mom didn't close the cap right. GOD IT'S NOT THAT FRIKIN' HARD. Instructions: Twist cap onto lid. Simple as that. How can a highly intelligent woman close a milk carton the wrong way?! It's not that hard!!!!!!!

Me :"Mom, next time make sure you close the Soymilk (or any other) container before you put it away next time."
Mom: "I DID!"
Me: "Obviously you didn't, because if you had, there wouldn't be Soymilk all over the floor."
Mom: "Well you grabbed it by the cap, of course it came off!"
Me: "First of all, I didn't grab it by the cap, I grabbed it by the side, and second, even if I had grabbed it by the cap, if it was closed properly, it would have stayed on just fine."
Mom: "What makes you think you can talk to me this way?!?! I would never have dared talk to my parents this way! CLEAN IT UP" *storms out of kitchen to go watch Clean House on the style network or TLC or something*
Me: *muttering under breath* "What makes you think you can put caps on wrong on liquid containers then blame me for it?!?!?!?!?"

It's amazing what can turn into a conflict these days.

Have I mentioned this isn't the first time this happened? One of the other times it was a 1-gallon jug of Arizona Green Tea. Luckily that was standing upright, so when I picked it up only some of it sloshed out.

I have never done this, and probably won't ever do this, because everytime I close something, I put the cap on as tight as I possibly can, or do it twice to make sure it's on right. I'm paranoid. Better safe than sorry.

slkfjdlkgjqwklrjg.

Have I mentioned that I look like I have a skin disease? Okay, not really, but it feels like it. I got a facial yesterday (not the first one, mind you). My facialist (is that what you call them? lol) 's name is Rose, she's from Argentina. Very nice lady. She's helped me with my skin a lot. I hadn't been in a while.

When we were done with the usual facial stuff, she put a "peel" on my face. It's basically like extremely deep cleaning and a few days later you're supposed to start peeling so your skin is all new and fresh and perfect. I've seen some pretty insane before and after pictures. Anyways, I didn't need a full peel, but she put it on just a few spots on my face. I was aware that I would start peeling a few days later (which I havent yet), but I defitely wasn't aware that my skin would TURN PURPLE. No joke. I have four round, purple, dime-sized spots on my face. PURPLE. I mean, at least red or pink, so it's possible to cover up. Purple is like an evil color for concealer. I already tried it, it only makes it look weird - either more purple, or like an off shade of purpl-blue. My mom said it's a result of the chemicals in the peel. I'm thanking God that I didn't get it on my whole face, if I had, my entire face would be a darkish blueish purpleish shade - like a sunburnt smurf. eurgh. I'm praying for it to go away over night, I can't do anything until it does. This sucksss, yo. As of now, the mirror is my enemy. :[

I have a new-found love for aussie hairproducts. A little while ago I started using the Aussie MOIST Shampoo and the Condtioner. These two products make my dry, chlorine damaged, swimmer's hair really really soft. It smells yummy too. Combine that with the MOIST 3 minute moisture treatment,(http://www.aussie.com/us/collections/moist/three_minute_deep.jsp) and my hair is actually hydrated for once <3 Last week I bought Aussie "sydney smooth" 12 hour anit-humidity hair spray. IT IS AMAZING.

http://www.aussie.com/us/collections/sydney_smooth/hairspray.jsp
I'm in love with this product. I'm not usually a big advocate of this kind of thing, but let me tell you, this hair spray is fantastic. On the bottle it says "12 hours of anti-humidity. Even in Florida, in your Grandparent's car, with the A/C broken". That was what originally sold me. I figured I might as well try it. I was going to the mall that day (with Harper). It was sunny and hot, as usual, but there was a looming thunderstorm coming our direction, so I thought there was no better time to try this spray. I straightened my hair, and I put the hair spray on my brush. I straightened each piece, brushed it (with the spray), then straightened it again. It started pouring as I was putting the finishing touches on my hair. I sprayed a little bit all over. Then I braved the gale outside (okay, not really, it was only a light-to-moderate rain by the time I left, but that's usually enough to make my hair forget it was ever straightened). Consider that I got rained on, and that I sat outside for a few minutes waiting for Harper to get there, and my hair looked great (not just by those standards). My profile picture was taken that day. As far as I can see, there is not one hair of frizz, and it's not poofy either!!! YAYYY FINALLY A HAIR PRODUCT THAT WORKS <3 I am one happy camper. My hair hasn't looked that good in a long time, partially because I never take the time to straighten it because I swim every day, and because whenever I do straighten it, it always frizzes right back up. I also use the aussie "hair insurance" leave-in conditioner. It's a really good product too.

I bought a really cool necklace at nordstrom the other day. It's on a simple black string type thing. A round, silver pendant that says in small letters "Protect the Planet". On the other side, it's the earth. The continents are engraved, well sort of because they're 3-D. It's cute. I payed $4 for it. If it was anything over $5, I wouldn't have bought it, it's not worthmore than that. But it was really cute for something so cheap =]

Gosh, I sound like a sales rep.

Ohh my life is so eventful.

<lj:music>"At Least We Made It This Far" - Relient K</lj:music>

I read this quote on a friend's Facebook profile status. I absolutely love it.

To me, this is such a -...what's the word for it... .it's on the tip of my tongue...- statement.

I clearly identify with this. I've seen so many stories of people who ruined their life by doing drugs. Not just in the most obvious way, (getting addicted, which has it's own trail of side effects) but in different ways as well. For instance, doing drugs just once can lower someone's sense of self-worth, A LOT, even if they hated it and swore never to do it again. Or, in the case of one athlete, drugs can put your life to a complete halt. A while ago I heard about a college basketball player who had just been drafted into a major NBA team. On his last night before he left home, he hosted a huge party to celebrate. Naturally, there was a ton of alcohol consumption, with some drugs mixed in. As a dedicated, clean athlete, this player had never tried drugs in his entire life. A "friend" of his convinced him to try just a little bit, just once, "it'll make you feel even more amazing than you do now". Moments after he gave in and tried some of the drug, he had an allergic reaction it, and he died before the paramedics could get there. Sad story, but even sadder is that this is not the only one of it's kind... First I wondered, how could he have listened to his friend's persuasion?? Why would he need to feel any more amazing after fulfilling every basketball players dream of being drafted to the NBA? I guess some things are unexplainable.
I think drugs are disgusting (obviously, excluding perscription or over the counter drugs used as intended). I understand that people get curious, but anyone who has ever seen the news or left their bedroom knows that the negative aspects of drugs are huge. I don't think it's worth it to risk everything for an hour or two of "ecstasy" (no pun intended).

I don't understand why people can't just "say no to drugs and get high on life". There are so many beautiful parts of our life, regardless of wealth or status. Just tweaking our attitude and our perception of our surroundings can do wonders. There's sunshine..good friends..clouds..rain... family..divorce... anger.. pain.. hate.. cold...heat.. love..laughter.. tears..wind..flowers..butterflies..disgusting things like spiders that really only make the world better for us.. the grass growing..water sparkling..winning a game or race.. congratulating the winner if it wasn't you, understanding that you need to work harder to get to the top..an ocean breeze.. a snowfall.

So many amazing things that we could consider miracles, even when it seems like the sky is crashing down around us are taken for granted. We can always find a way to make things better, whether it's writing in a journal, or running like there's no tomorrow. I don't see how drugs can make the bad times seem better, they only delay and prolong the pain. I certainly don't understand why people need more stimulation if they are already feeling good. I don't really make much sense right now, but maybe that's because it's hard to describe everything this world has to offer us.

If we could just learn how to take the good with the bad, the happy with the sad, if people could just understand that everything is just a sensation, thats it's up to us to put it into perspective, I think the makers of Prozac and the guys smoking&selling joints on street corners would be out of business.

I think my mom has taken the definition of a "pack rat" to a whole new level, either that, or it's extreme procrastination. A while back she bought a brand new 10 megapixel camera with a 3 inch screen, and she let it sit on the shelf for months without even opening the box. With the camera came a new HP Photosmart scanner and printer. Around the same time, she bought a new lap top, which she also let sit on the shelf un-used and unopened for months. She refused to let me touch any of it because it was "her property". Am I the only one who thinks this is absolutely ridiculous?
Eventually I persuaded her to let me set up the laptop and install all the necessary program downloads or whatever. Same thing with the camera, only there was nothing to install and it was a lot easier than the laptop. She never uses her camera, I'm the only one who uses it. Not that I have a problem with it. haha.
Not until today did we configure/set up the printer scanner thing to work with the laptop. jeezez. Good thing it's done now :)
^^Don't get me wrong, she's a sweetheart, but I think she's afraid of new things. I guess all of us are to a certain extent, but I mean it's not like the big bad digital camera is going to come and eat you alive. bahaha.

-...... lunch break.....-

Anyways, I'm a little bit sore. Since I'm on a break from swimming, I've been going to the gym daily so I stay in "running" shape.
I conquered my fear of treadmills. Okay, so it's not really a fear, I just hated them for the longest time; though not because of a hidden hate for running (like my imaginary readers may think), because I actually love running. I just hate the noise it makes when you run on a treadmill. I guess it seems worse if you're the only person using one. I always felt like I was stomping because of the noise it made, when I obviously wasn't stomping because I run all the time, everyday. So I've solved my problem by blasting my iPod in my ears.
I'll probably be deaf by age 60. That would suck. I'd much rather be deaf than blind though.
I can't even imagine being both, like Helen Keller. I use my ears and eyes for so many things, I can't fathom what the permanent loss of those senses would be like.

For the summer reading assignment, I'm reading Tuesdays With Morrie. I was sort of annoyed when I heard that a lot of people chose that book because it was the shortest. That's definitely not why I chose the book. I hate short books. I chose the book because it seemed like a story I would be interested in. Not to mention, I prefer male authors over female authors. (My other probable option was My Sister's Keeper.. which also sounded interesting, but I just wasn't lured in by the plot. If I'm not lured in by the plot or the author's style, I can never finish a book in good time.)

Speaking of male authors, I've really enjoyed the work of Lawrence Block (www.lawrenceblock.com). The Keller novels are the best. Keller is a hitman, who despite his job, is a really simple guy who loves stamp collecting. Hit Man, Hit List, and Hit Parade were fantastic. Very "comfortable" reading I'd say. I haven't gotten a chance to read the latest book, Hit and Run, since it was just released in June I'm not sure if it's available at the library yet. Yes, I'm too cheap to purchase the book. Not really, but if I bought one of them, I'd feel obligated to buy the others, simply because I can't stand not having a complete collection of books in a series.

That's basically it for today.

<lj:music>"My Worst Nightmare" - Forever The Sickest Kids</lj:music>

Ok, I am officially shocked. That said, IT TAKES A LOT TO SHOCK ME.

Tonight was episode 5 of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and within the first 10 minutes of the show, Ben already buttered Amy up by feeding her buffalo wings (or was it chicken wings?), then got on one frickin' knee and PROPOSED. sdlfkjsgkljfsklgmseklfnh.

It was a pretty big rock too, at least it looked like it.. My jaw literally dropped, I was like WHATTTTTTTT

I'm a sucker for food, but I'm not that bad. Just because a guy fed me doesn't mean I accept a marriage proposal. Especially at age 15. She actually didn't really give him an answer, because then they started talking about her pregnancy and he was all like "I love you Amy, I love you, I'll be here for you, we can say the baby's mine. I'll go with you to tell your mom, my dad can even come if you think it would help." WTF MAN.

To be honest, if I was Amy, I probably would have dropped him a longgg time ago. He's way too clingy. I mean, seriously, he said "I love you and I want to be with you forever" on like, what, their second date??? The second date I'm still trying to figure out if the guy can tolerate my randomness. bahahaha. ---- Then again, she's pregnant, so maybe it's good to have someone totally goo-goo-ga-ga over her. If I was pregnant I'd probably need someone to be overly supportive like that, considering there probably wouldn't be much support coming from anyone else.

My mom wouldn't shut up during the show. She was all like "Annika if this ever happens to you, you need to come and tell me right away, don't run off and have an abortion". I swear during the whole show she kept muttering about how Amy's teenage pregnancy isn't really THAT big of a deal. I couldn't help thinking, well yeah, but would your opinion change if that was me?? The thing is, she's actually pretty relaxed about that sort of thing, I mean, of course she has her viewpoints, but if I were to say, get pregnant and DIE (just kidding..), God forbid, I don't think she'd start screaming at me about how I've ruined my life or anything like that. She'd probably just go all "anti-abortion" on me.

My rant is the most interesting part of this post, if I do say so myself.
VV

I read a book a while ago, and in the book one of the characters was pregnant. She went to this abortion clinic, but it was one of those "shady" ones that wasn't certified or something and did everything illegally. So they did something wrong, and (I don't remember all the gory details, but they were disgusting, I was in pain just reading it), and the girl died. The end. This book was, of course, part of a series by a Christian (or Catholic?) novelist, so it wasn't a big surprise that she had to put something "anti-abortion" in there.

Anyways, I'm not "pro-abortion" or "anti-abortion", but I am pro-CHOICE. I'm not totally loose about it, like, "Oh, don't worry about it, you can always get an abortion", but I do believe that it is an important, personal choice a woman should have. Yes, I am aware of the potential (and highly likely) negative emotional effects and scarring it can have, but at the same time, I think it's important to consider the quality of life that the mother (and father, depending) and child will have to live. Unless they are an extremely wealthy person with tons of support *cough Jamie Lynn Spears cough cough*, a teenage mother (and hopefully father) will have a VERY tough time. Clothes, food, diapers, crying, etc. would force a teenager to grow up and mature into an adult in a timespan on 9 months -more or less- before they had the baby, and would continue for the next 18 years or more (for those who will have kids who still live at home at the age of 30)

Recently I saw this in the news: (http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=5405561&page=1). It goes along with my view point. Is the Bush administration OUT OF THEIR MIND?? How can anyone even imagine CONSIDERING contraception as abortion??? WHAT HAPPENED TO SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE?????? Just because Catholics and some other religious sects are against any form of abortion, DOES NOT mean that they have to force it on others (regardless of religion). Could I make it any more clear?? CONTRACEPTION DOES NOT EQUAL ABORTION!!!!! and is certainly not killing a child. As that asian girl in Juno said, "BABIES HAVE FINGERNAILS!", okay, first, fingernails don't develop until like the 7th month, and second, I'm pretty sure no one was aware of (or remembers) their feeling and surrounding during their time in the womb. Making it harder for women to get contraception will only add to the demise of American society. Quality of life for so many Americans, especially the ones who need birth control the most (lower income/class, teenagers, etc.) will decline immensely. This pisses me off SO MUCH. gahhhh! Soon we're gonna have a bunch of *insert racist term here* thugs whose parents are only 14 years older than them walking the streets EVERYWHERE!!!!
It's ridiculous that the Bush administration is even considering this kind of action.

I always hear this ridiculous argument - "IT'S NOT THE BABIES FAULT THEY WERE CONCEIVED, THEY'RE DEFENSELESS!" - DUH! It's also not women's fault if they get raped and get pregnant because of it (there's a law in New York that provides rapid abortion for rape victims, this new proposal by the Bush admin. would conflict with this law). Obviously not every unplanned pregnancy is from rape. That's another DUH moment. However, there are the instances were a condom broke, slipped off, etc, when the pill wasn't effective, and other situations when people with intentions of "responsible sex" have bad luck. The baby can't feel anything at that point, the brain and senses aren't developed enough for a fetus to feel anything at the stage of 1-4 months (when an abortion would usually occur). It hurts the woman more than anything else, and I feel that as someone who was mature enough to have sex and get pregnant, the woman should be able to decide if the emotional&physical trauma of an abortion is worth it to her.

Here's an even worse argument (that goes along with this new act, and Catholicism)- "BABIES HAVE A RIGHT TO BE CONCEIVED, THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO LIVE, ANY KIND OF CONTRACEPTION, EVEN NOT HAVING SEX IS CONSIDERED ABORTION" <-- HOKAY! Not having sex to prevent pregnancy is what I call SMART, not abortion. God this is such bullshit. It's pathetic that I even need to talk about this kind of statement. This kind of thinking is what got my manwhore of a dad into supporting 5 other people on a teachers salary. Let me say this, definitely not the kind of life I would want to live. Thank god I don't live with him. These frickin' Catholics have no business imposing their biased beliefs on the public, especially through government.

Before any of my *imaginary* readers comment saying "WHAT IF YOUR MOM HAD ABORTED YOU, WHAT THEN?", I'd like to say that I, my brother and sister were all planned pregnancies, so don't even start that b.s.

"This concludes today's rant."

I read someone's comment on a website that said, "The government has no place in the bedroom or the doctor's office" - and I couldn't agree more. Anything else is just psycho-babble bullshit.

kthnxbai.

Yesterday was a really fun day :]

I went to the mall with Harper, we got awesome sunglasses at Nordstrom.
After the mall, I went to swim practice. We're on break before camp and highschool season so practice this week is optional, and we're basically doing whatever we want. We went off the diving boards and stuff.

Funny thing is, I used to love jumping/falling from high surfaces (I can be a thrill junkie sometimes), but now, I'm deathly afraid of heights. What's wrong with me?? I used to love going on crazy high up stuff, for instance : DerStuka and The Bomb Bay (http://www.wetnwildorlando.com/attr_01.html - roll over to see which ones I mean). Those are the scariest things I have ever been on in my entire life. The Bomb Bay is, for one, horrible for claustrophobic people (I'm not one), but then it gets better, and the floor falls out from under you and you skyrocket straight down! Talk about a nightmare. I only had the guts to do that ride once, and that was when I wasn't afraid of heights yet. I went on DerStuka more than once last time I was there, but I can't even imagine going on either one of those rides now, simply because I'm so freakin' scared!

^^ What brought me to that was the fact that I was scared to death of jumping of the 3-meter diving board. Jeez. It's not even that high up. I conquered my fear though, and went on it twice =D It was fun.

I haven't been to Wet 'n' Wild in forever. I like rides such as "Brain Wash".

ANYWAYS- Last night was "Pre-Season Team Bonding" at Macaroni Grill. Yumm. I had Vodka Rustica (it's like a penne pasta with chicken), which was reallyyyy good. My friend said "Umm Annika are you allowed to order that??". I was like "Uhh yeah, the alcohol goes away when it's cooked smart one". :] After Macaroni Grill a bunch of us went to Coldstone. YUMMM! I got Birthday Cake Remix - quite possibly the best flavor ever. If you haven't had it, you definitely should. (To my imaginary readers..haha). Funny thing is, they've been coming up with all these new "batter" flavors. Chocolate cake batter wasn't bad (though I don't like chocolate cake or chocolate ice cream), but then they come up with something called BLUEBERRY MUFFIN BATTER. It's purple. I tried a little spoon of it, I threw half the spoon away (that's when I went to Coldstone the other day with Tyler, not last night). Honestly, who comes up with a flavor like Blueberry Muffin Batter???

Tomorrow I'm probably going to see the movie Step Brothers with Tyler and David. I love stupid movies like that, they're so entertaining. Last time I saw a movie with David and Tyler, it was 10,000 B.C., and we didn't shut up the entire movie. We kept talking about Kunta Kinte (Roots anyone??), and PRETZEL MAN (some guy who had like a tribal mask thing made of bamboo-type sticks that looked like pretzels). We made the whole movie a joke - meanwhile, people wearing tiger fur and giant teeth at the end of their spears attempted to kill giant mammoth creatures. GOOD TIMES =D So who knows, considering this is already a comedy movie, it should be a very funny experience.

Last night, I couldn't fall asleep because I had Birthday Cake Remix ice cream at 10:00pm. So I was on Facebook until like midnight, then layed in bed another hour or so before I actually fell asleep. Good thing it's after JO's and practice is in the afternoon so I can sleep in as late as I want.

Life is good.

I just spent 15 minutes looking on google, ebay, and other various websites looking for a Helen Keller action figure for Tyler for this birthday.
I wasn't able to find one =[

Anyways, summary of the meet:
Friday - dropped like a second and a half from my 50 Breast
Saturday - gained 5 seconds on my 200 Breast :(
Sunday - gained like 3 tenths of a second on my 100 Breast :\

It was an okay meet I guess. I've had a pretty off season, so considering, I didn't do too badly.
I counted for Henry in the mile today - I must be a lucky charm; Last time I counted for him he dropped 15 seconds (keep in mind this is a ~20 minute long event), this time he dropped another 10 seconds! Yay! His time was an 18:55.23 (?).

Thursday night I slept over at Harper's house =] It was fun!
We're really alike.. in lots of ways. Lol I won't go into details about that. :]
We had to wake up at 5:30am to drive to Plantation - yayyyyyy.

So now I'm just relaxing after the meet. I feel like I pulled a muscle in my thigh.. must be all that breaststroke kicking :\

I got two awesome colors of nailpolish today! Usually I don't bother wearing nailpolish, but I borrowed an awesome bright metallic green color called "Go Go Green" from Harper, which I absolutely love. AND - it gets better - the polish didn't chip all weekend.
So then on the way home from the JO's today, I convinced my mom to let me stop in Wal-Mart and buy this awesome green nail polish, along with another similar pink shade. Yay! :]

My brother has decided he wants a pit bull. His friends' pit bull might be having puppies.. we'll see how that goes.. My mom already told him she won't be driving the 10 minutes to his house every time he needs someone to walk the dog while he's at work.. He didn't like the sound of that.. Haha.

Going to the mall with Harper tomorrow :)

Yummmmmm.

I love Auntie Anne's pretzels. Especially awesome "homemade" ones. Yesterday was wednesday, which is official "Caesar Salad Day" - basically, Tyler and I ride the cripple mobile (electric scooter thing), eat a lot, watch movies and stuff. Yesterday we made pretzels :D
The best one was a pretzel that I shaped into an awesome Asian person's face. It's the cutest pretzel ever =] At the moment, I'm eating a normal shaped cinnamon sugar pretzel. YUM YUM POTASSI-YUM! Spazz moment. I seriously doubt there's any potassium in pretzels, especially cinnamon sugar ones.

We watched my favorite movie - The Guardian - then watched the news, and heard about the people whose tube flipped over on the ride Black Thunder (which by the way is A LOT of fun! especially going backwards ^_^) at Rapids waterpark. Chances are, they were doing something they weren't supposed to be doing, otherwise stuff like that doesn't happen.

I'm officially like the most random person - EVER. When I was riding the cripple mobile yesterday (aka electric scooter thing), the Dora the Explorer themesong got stuck in my head. I proceeded to sing it loudly as I rode down the street. I had fun. Though, I don't even know HOW I know the Dora the Explorer song in the first place. Dora is sooo an illegal immigrant, fo sho.

JO'S ARE THIS WEEKEND!!! Hopefully the meet will go well. I better be able to get a new Fastskin before the meet starts too..
I'm sleeping over at Harper's house tonightttt! But we have to be up at 6am to drive to Plantation for the meet.. FUNNN! =D

Tyler's Birthday Checklist so far -

- Helen Keller action figure
- Miniature bottle of Hot Sauce (for his purse - err, I mean pocket!)
- Easy Bake oven
- .... to be continued

I love tapering. It's so much fun. Practices are short and somewhat easy.. We went from 3 hours of running (about 30-45 minutes) then swimming, to only an hour and a half total every morning. Today was even better, since there was a meet over the weekend, practice was only ONE hour today.. now that's the good life. AND our usual coach wasn't there, it was a different coach today, so he was just like "whatever guys we're doing starts now".. good times :)

Practice was over at 8:00 instead of 8:30, so I sat on a bench outside with friends while we waited for our rides to pick us up. Of course, my mom came from the gym so I was one of the last people to be picked up. I didn't mind though, it's a gorgeous day outside and it would be a shame to be inside wih this kind of weather. I know, I know, I'm inside right now, but I'm going to the beach in about an hour and a half. I'll probably be there most of the day.
There's barely a cloud in the sky, and there's a really nice breeze - perfect beach day!
I'll probably be black by the time school starts =D

JO's is this weekend!! (quick note to my imaginary readers: JO's = Junior Olympics).
Even though I'm not really a sprinter (duh!), I'm excited that they added the 50 Breaststroke as an event for 13&over swimmers.
It used to be only the 50 free and the longer events for anyone over the age of 12, but I guess things are changing. I'm better at the 200 Breast than I am at the 100 (and the 50 apparently), but that's okay. Sprints are fun.

I'm mildly entertained by all the options I'm given for my "mood".
There's everything from "chipper" to "horny" to "morose", to "quixotic". Yeah, quixotic I had to look up.
Now I'm reminded of 7th grade spanish class... Let's not even go there.

Ahh, the joys of a first journal entry.

At the moment, I'm slightly irritated. Sometimes I think Floridian architects are brain dead. We obviously don't get sub-32 degree temperatures here (especially South Florida), or snowstorms, or any other similar weather condition, but that doesn't mean we don't want to keep noises or other "things" out. That didn't make much sense, but oh well.

My backyard is adjacent to my neighbors backyard; half of their family is gathered there. My neighbors have a big family (literally and metaphorically), so let's just say they are pretty loud. Now add food to this "big" family's gathering, and we get even more noise.

I don't have anything personal against them, (at least I don't think I do...), I just get annoyed very easily.

Maybe another day I'll start a rant on the growing obesity rates in America. That's always interesting.

I'm in the middle of a book called "The Good Guy", by my favorite author, Dean Koontz . I started the book yesterday (right after finishing a different book), and didn't get very far. It's due back at the library tomorrow (yeah, I even procrastinate on leisurely activities), so I should probably go read.

I'm not feeling particularly thoughtful, creative or articulate today, probably due to the fact that I haven't been feeling very well lately. So this entry is sort of shallow and boring, but in general, my thoughts are usually a bit more substantial. - Whatever, I doubt anyone but me will actually be reading this.
